I took a little road trip up to the Suffolk coast and Orford Ness today. Short boat trip across to the peninsula then a couple of hours wandering the shingled spit that was once home to the British Atomic Weapons Research Establishment.
Very eerie as you can imagine - especially the now dilapidated stress testing facility, LAB 1 which housed the the huge 1950's Blue Danube nuclear bomb. More info on the place can be found here: century20war
Took many pictures so once I've been through them I'll upload a few. In the meantime, here's a great sign that was up in one of the military buildings.
