Olly Moss

Spent all day yesterday waiting for these to become available to buy at MondoTees.com ('random sales time' was specified), only to leave my desk for 10 minutes and find them all sodding sold out! Ce la vie I guess.

Wanted to get the set of three for $150 but obviously not going to happen now so I'll seek solace through posting an image here on my blog.

Created by artist Olly Moss, these clever posters (love the twin sun/eyes on the Star Wars one) are/were screen printed by hand and 24"x36", limited to just 400.

Worth checking out Olly's site too as there are more lovely examples of design and illustration on there.

And Olly, if for some extremely high odds reason you're reading this....any chance of creating 401 Star Wars sets?!

DJ Superix presents Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate!

Definitely worth checking out is another free mixtape download, this time from the UK's DJ Superix, a mixmeister I got into a few years back with the mighty Lost & Found Vol.1 rare 90's hip hop mix compilation.
This time it's all about the breaks and beats. Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate! can be downloaded as a zip file containing the 2 x CD's directly from the Southern Hospitality website here. Highly recommended if you like your skool's old.

‘Its back to the eighties again for this mix (1984-1987 to be specific) a really exciting time in hip-hop as the music was constantly evolving its sound. Put simply, these are some of my favourite records ever & in my opinion they still sound as  fresh to me today as the day they did when I first heard them. I hope you enjoy the mix as much as I did putting it together!’ – Superix

Break out the shelltoes and enjoy!

Nikon D90 DSLR

While I'm online I should probably add a note about my latest gadget too. It's a Nikon D90 DSLR with an 18-200mm lens and I bought it as I was itching to do a little photographic experimentation.

A few years ago I used to have a Canon 350D but the Nikon seems to be the important step up I was hoping it would be for me. Not that I'm going to neglect my Panasonic Lumix FX-550, I just wanted to have the option of both compact and DSLR.

Anyway, here's one of my first pictures taken with it, of my car in the recent snow (was impressed at the colour it picked out in the wall and lamp post). Next purchase will be a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens for those cool, slightly warped reality images.

Guy Allen • Motoring Illustrator

It's been a while since my last post. Recovery from the broken/dislocated shoulder is just about finished now save for a little physio to do for the next month. So, time to update my blog and what better to do that with than some vanden plas illustration.

Guy Allen's stuff is right up my cul-de-sac and I plan to buy something from him in the new year. He does commissions and you may have seen his work in Octane magazine too. Check out his website here and for an instant aesthetic hit, here is a gorgeous Ferrari 512 S.
